Hubert Allen Jr

Hubert Allen Jr., 65, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. passed away Friday, September 9, 2016 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Mr. Allen was born January 26, 1952 in Tunica, Ms. He was a member of True Believers Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon. He worked as a cook at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. He enjoyed fishing, cooking and singing in the choir. Hubert served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. On February 14, 1981 he married Fannie (McCall) Allen in Corning, Ark. She survives. Other survivors include his father, Hubert Allen Sr.; children, Charmin Rodgers, Carmen Rodgers, Carmeal Rodgers, Joseph Rodgers, and Anthony Rodgers; one brother, Willie D. Allen; 16 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lorie (Cunningham) Allen and a brother, Albert Allen; and son, Antonio Rodgers. Visitation will be held from 11a.m.- 1p.m. Monday, September 19, 2016 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff followed by a GRAVESIDE Service at 2 p.m. Monday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo., with the Rev. Johnny Williams officiating.
