James D. Basshers

James David Basshers, 69, of Harviell, Mo., died Sunday, May 12, 2013 at his residence. He was born March 26, 1944 in Lilbourn, Mo. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a Chief Engineer on a riverboat. Mr. Basshers was a loving stepfather to his previous wife, Molly's children, who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were his parents, James and Thelma Basshers. He is survived by his step children, Lee Victery, Thomas Victery, Anna Harris, Donna Nelson, Brenda Moore and Loretta Victery; his sisters, Geneva Absheer, Patricia Carroll and Tina O'Neil; several step grandchildren and several step great- grandchildren. There will be a graveside memorial service 11a.m. Friday, May 17, 2013, at the City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
