James Alonzo Carpenter

James Alonzo Carpenter, 86, of Poplar Bluff, MO passed away on February 26, 2023, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. James was born on January 31, 1937, to Floyd and Laveta Nora (Hamm) Carpenter in Detroit, Michigan.  He married Julia Faye Carpenter; she preceded him in death. James enjoyed the sale barn and flea markets and visiting with people.  More than that, he enjoyed being with his family. James is survived by children, James (Diana) Carpenter, John Carpenter, Sarah (Chris) Todd, Joseph (Sommer) Carpenter, grandchildren; Joshua James Carpenter, Chris Todd, Cody Lee James Carpenter( Hayley Ledbetter Carpenter),Phillip Todd, Colton (Natalie) Carpenter, Clayton (Emily) Carpenter, Cody Casy-Todd, Noah (Vandela Wormly) Casy-Todd, Katie Scott, great grandchildren, Maveric Grace Carpenter, Adeline Jane-Scott, Xavier Creed James Carpenter, Ace Wormly Todd, Emelia Carpenter and brother in law Leroy Tobin. James was preceded in death by wife, Julia Faye Carpenter, parents, granddaughter, Carley Jo Carpenter, great granddaughter, Adalynn Jean Carpenter, brothers, Charles and Donald Carpenter, sisters, Marie Richmond and Pat Tobin. Visitation will be held Tuesday February 28, 2023, from 12-1 PM at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 1PMin the chapel with Rev. David Tharp officiating. Burial will take place at Kinsey Cemetery in Harviell, MO
