James Damon Creach died in the line of service, doing what he loved, on November 9, 2015 in Amman, Jordan at the age of 42.
Damon is survived by his parents, Jerry and Sharon Creach of Neelyville, Mo; beloved wife, Heather; children, Taylor, Samantha, Jackson, & Jayedon. He has two sisters; Christy Petty and husband Paul of Neelyville, Mo, and Sherri Jennings and husband Cory of Cabot, AR. He also leaves behind 5 nieces and 1 nephew. He is preceded in death by Grandparents JB & Louise Stratton of Broseley, Mo, and Connie & Geraldine Creach of Neelyville, Mo, & Gene & Helen Baker of Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Damon was born on March 19, 1973 in Colorado Springs, CO. He graduated from Neelyville High School in 1991 and also from the Virginia Beach Police Department Academy in 2005. Damon and Heather met in Alaska, married in 2001 and settled in Virginia Beach and began raising a family. They moved to Tampa in 2011. During this time, Damon pursued a career in Law Enforcement with the Virginia PD eventually moving on to provide law enforcement training programs internationally. He touched many lives worldwide from his hometown in Missouri to Arkansas, Alaska, Virginia, Florida, Afghanistan, Kenya, Africa and most recently Jordan.
His family and friends will always remember him as someone who made everyone feel special and whose smile lit up any room. An amazing man with a zest for life, full of spirit and integrity, he was always pursuing a higher calling.
Visitation will be on Friday, November 20, 2015 from 5-7 pm at Fellowship Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff, MO. The funeral is scheduled for Saturday November 21, 2015 at 11:00am at Fellowship with burial following at Kinsey Cemetery. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Damon’s life.
