Janis L. Birdsong

Janis L. Birdsong, 67, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Ms. Birdsong was born January 1, 1950 in Poplar Bluff. She was of the Baptist faith. Janis had worked at Smiley Container Factory before retirement. She enjoyed reading, watching movies and spending time with her family. Survivors include 2 sisters, Anita Birdsong and Alleene Sweeza and 2 brothers, Russell Birdsong and Blake T. Birdsong. Her parents, Blake Birdsong and Mary (Timmons) Birdsong preceded her in death as well as siblings, Mary Stewart, Ruth Carl, Gene Birdsong and Billy Birdsong. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 20, 2017, at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m., in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Calvin Bulher officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Black Creek Cemetery in Poplar Bluff. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home.
