Jerry Lee Edmundson, son of the late Jasper Edmundson and Virginia (Darnell) Tibbs, was born December 15, 1970, in Poplar Bluff, MO and departed this life April 12, 2022, at Saint Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO, at the age of 51.
Jerry attended and graduated from Poplar Bluff High School. Following high school, he enrolled in Linn Tech where he studied heavy equipment operation and graduated at the top of his class. Jerry would go on to own and operate his own excavation business in the years that followed.
Jerry’s hobbies were more than hobbies, they were his passions. Hunting, fishing, and songwriting were things that he immersed himself in. If you were to get into a conversation with him about one of his passions, you knew you were going to be there a while.
On October 27, 2007, Jerry was united in marriage to Amy Dennis who survives of the home.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents. Additionally, Jerry is survived by seven children, Sheldon Edmundson, McKena (Edmundson)Willard, Tucker Edmundson, Shelby (Whelchel) Phelps, Chelsy Whelchel, Wesley Whelchel, Caleb Whelchel; by ten grandchildren, Kyleigh Edmundson, Luna Edmundson, Marley Edmundson, Jovie Edmundson, Cy Edmundson, Willa Moore, Lexi Sieben, Lillian Phelps, John Whelchel, and Camilla Collins; by five brothers, Joey Lutes, Mark Jones, Matt Edmundson, Jay Edmundson, and Tim Edmundson; and by three sisters, Lorrie (Edmundson) Busse, Chelsea (Edmundson) Dudycha, and Leeza (Edmundson) Smith.
Jerry will be deeply missed by his family and friends who will mourn his passing.
As his final act of kindness, Jerry was able to save the lives of five people through organ donation.
Visitation will be Saturday April 16, 2022, at Kern’s Chapel 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. with a service to follow.
