Jerry James, 75, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away at his home Sunday, July 13, 2014. Mr. James was born in Risco, Mo. on July 19, 1938 to the late Carl B. James and Lottie Lorene (Gabriel) James. He was retired from General Motors in St. Louis, Mo.
On April 17, 1959 he married Barbara (Bagwell) James in Poplar Bluff. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Laura Harris and husband, Mike of Loganville, Ga. and Lisa Powers and husband, Brian of Rosharon, Tx.; a sister, Marilyn Dodge and brother, Carl E. James both of Poplar Bluff; as well as one grandson, Joshua Harris of Loganville, Ga. and many friends. He thought of his son-in-laws just like sons.
A memorial visitation will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 17, 2014 at the City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
