Jerry Silkwood

Jerry Allen Silkwood, 73, of Piedmont, Mo., passed away on Feb. 12, 2017 at the SouthBrook Nursing Center in Farmington, Mo. Mr. Silkwood was born on Sept. 18, 1943 in Coon Island, Mo. He worked as a Router for the Missouri Medal Company and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Piedmont. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on vehicles as a shade tree mechanic. On Nov. 18, 1966 he married Dorothy Hannah in Poplar Bluff, Mo. She survives. Also surviving are his children, William Andrew Silkwood & wife Dana Lynne of N. County St. Louis, Michael Silkwood of Barnhart, Mo.; sisters, Carolyn Evola of St. Louis, Mo., Bernice Silman of Naylor, Elda Silkwood of Naylor; brothers, Clyde Silkwood of Naylor, Charles Silkwood of Oxly; 5 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by parents, Carl and Omah Silkwood; 2 sisters, Carlene Gowen and Silvia Silkwood; and 1 brother, Doyle Silkwood. Visitation will take place on Thurs. Feb. 16, 2017 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel in Neelyville. The Funeral will be on Fri. Feb. 17, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Bud Beecher officiating. Burial will take place at Coon Island Cemetery in Neelyville.
