Jerry D. Strickland

On December 20, 2014, Jerry D. Strickland joined his wife Frances Rae Pitt Strickland in Heaven. He was 71 years old and spent his last years in Austin, Texas with his children and grandchildren. Jerry was devoted to his family, hardworking, and a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan. Jerry was born July 5, 1943 in Kennett, Missouri to Juanita Mae Kinsey Strickland and Clinton Levi Strickland. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Rae Pitt Strickland and sisters, Willa Faye Hogeland and Patsy Sue Patterson. Bonnie Sue Chrisman of Dexter survives. Continuing their father’s legacy are his daughter, Robyn Strickland Hawkins and her husband, Dan and his son, Jerry D. Strickland II, and his wife, Lara. He is also survived by three beautiful grandchildren, who he adored, Ella Frances, Miles Mitchell and Kinsey Faith. Jerry was the dear uncle of nine nieces and seven nephews. A memorial service to honor Jerry will be held at 11 a.m. January 10, 2015 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Burial will take place at the City Cemetery immediately following the service.
