John Albertson

John W. Albertson, 85, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Thursday, March 5, 2015 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Mr. Albertson was born December 18, 1929 in Williamsville, Mo. to the late Walter and Gertrude (Gilbert) Albertson. He enjoyed fishing, working on lawn mowers and going to flea markets. He is survived by his children, Donald Albertson (Terry), Marjorie Shipman (Danny), Michael Albertson (Karen); two sisters, Nora Brown and Sharon Moore; and one brother, Bobby Albertson; grandchildren, Shane and Michael Lee Albertson, Tiffany Albertson, Josh and Craig Shipman, Hailey Troutt; as well as 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Opal, and a son, David Albertson; two sisters, Mary Ray and Margie Tubb; brothers, Carrell and James Albertson and a grandchild, Shaun Albertson in 2013. Visitation will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff. The funeral will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 8, 2015 with Rev. Randy West officiating. Burial will be in the Black River Cemetery, Williamsville, Mo.
