John D. Shepherd

John D. Shepherd, 66, of Neelyville, Missouri passed away, March 1, 2017 in the Southeast Hospital of Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He was born April 12, 1950 to the late John B. Shepherd and Mamie Irene Somers Shepherd. On June 19, 1999 at Neelyville, Missouri John was married to Diane Vannada. She survives. Also surviving are his children; John Shepherd Jr. and wife Tania of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Stacey Shepherd and wife Sierra of Harveill, Mo., Bobbie Crouch and husband Clint of Poplar Bluff, Mo, David Shepherd of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Tina Buckhanan and husband Roy of Oxly, Mo., Randy Shepherd of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Joshua Shepherd of Kentucky and Nyoka Thomas of Qulin, Mo., as well as the mother of his children, Carolyn Shepherd. Also surviving five sisters; Lou Lundry, and Janet Shepherd both of Poplar Bluff, Thelma Eldridge of Pollard, Ark., Leveda Ellis and husband Tom of Scottsdale, Arizona and Martha Shipman and husband Bobby of Naylor , Mo., two brothers; Luther E. Shepherd and wife Peggy of Naylor, Mo and Phillip Shepherd and wife Donna of Doniphan, Mo., special brother-in-law, Wade Vannada of Neelyville, Mo. Fifteen Grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. John had been a commercial truck driver and had attended the Naylor Pentecostal Church. He enjoyed playing horseshoes, playing pool, gardening, fishing and enjoyed St.Louis Cardinal baseball and singing, and spending time with kids down on the corner. Visitation for John will be Saturday, March 4, 2017 starting at 6:00 p.m., with the funeral Sunday, March 5, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel Inc of Neelyville, Missouri. Burial will be in the Kinsey Cemetery at Harviell with Donnie Fowler, Kevin Shepherd and Brian Shipman officiating.
