J.R. Rippee, 72, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. passed away Saturday April 30, 2016 at Florrisant, Mo.
Mr. Rippee was born April 18, 1944 in Pocahontas, Ark. to the late Roy T. Rippee and Bessie Lee Rippee (Nee) Anderson.
J.R. was of the Baptist faith. He served his country in the United States Army in Germany. He was a lifetime resident of Butler County and a retired business owner. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his children, Michael Rippee (Jackie), Paulette Pickard and Nikki Rippee, all of Poplar Bluff; two sisters, Cathy Green, Springfield, Mo., and Thurma Griffith of Poplar Bluff; three brothers, Bobby Rippee (Nancy) and Charlie Rippee (Betty), all of St. Louis, and Billy Rippee of Forest City, Ark.; special brother-in-law, Jonesy Stoven Green; his grandchildren, Trinity Smith, Daniel Smith of Poplar Bluff, Alyssa Rippee of Jennings, Mo., Nikya Rippee of Louisiana, Nevaeh Rippee of Sikeston, and Brandon Harris, Chicago, Ill.; as well as very special friends, Kelly Bond, Kim Davis and son, Josh, Steve Pickard, and a host of friends too numerous to mention.
J.R. was preceded in death by both wives, Jamie (Sommers) Rippee and Sharron Sue (Malone) Rippee. He is also preceded in death by his sisters, Lillie Mae Rippee, Janice Lee Rippee, Sarah T.J. Rippee, Edith Pauline Keller, and Linda Lou Keller; and one brother, David Lynn Rippee.
Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff. Funeral services will begin at 12 (noon) Thursday, May 5, 2016, in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Chuck Clark officiating. Burial will be in Kinsey Cemetery, Harviell, Mo.
