Katheline "Kathy" Whitney

Katheline "Kathy" Whitney, 61, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Monday, September 15, 2014 at her residence. Mrs. Whitney was born September 11, 1953, in Poplar Bluff, to the late Jim Smith and Mary D. Burden. Mrs. Whitney enjoyed sewing, crafts, cooking, spending time with family and grandchildren, and yard sales. She attended the Palace of Praise Church. On Oct. 14, 1969, she was united in marriage to Jimmy Whitney. He preceded her in death July 2003. She is survived by her children, Marilyn R. Hamm and Jimmy "Bubby" L. Whitney; brothers, Lee and Danny Daugherty, DeWayne, Mitchell, Mark and Michael Smith; a sister, Rosemary Bowen;six grandchildren, Danny Hamm Jr., Daniel Hamm, Colton Humble, Alex Lopez, Brittni Whitney and Levi Whitney; 3 great-grandchildren, Danny "Mack" L. Hamm III, Diamond R. Hamm and Ethan R.L. Hamm. Also surviving are two special friends, Penny Smith and Helen Jordan. Mrs. Whitney was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and one sister Judy Sparks. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar St., Poplar Bluff, Mo. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 18, 2014, in the funeral home chapel, with Bishop Kent Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery, Blytheville, Ar.
