Katherine Batson

Katherine L. Batson, 85, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at her home. Mrs. Batson was born January 4, 1930 to the late Eli Maxwell Goodrum and Jenifer L. (Wiggins) Goodrum. She had worked as a telephone operator and then advanced to a plant designer. She enjoyed bowling,winning several trophies and was recognized in the Bowling Hall of Fame in Poplar Bluff. She also loved playing bingo, going to flea markets and yard sales. She was of the Baptist faith She is survived by two sons, James H. Batson (Janie) and Donald R. Batson (Candy) and one daughter, Karen L. Fox (Leslie); five grandchildren, James J. Johnson, Nathan Batson, Holly Batson, Don Ray Batson and Jenny L. Batson; as well as three great-grandchildren, Conner Johnson, Kendra Batson and Brody Ray Batson. Mrs. Batson was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers, Frederick Goodrum, Herbert Goodrum, Edgar Goodrum, Eli Goodrum Jr., and Ollie Goodrum. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, November 30, 2015 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff followed by a graveside service at 2 p.m. in the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery with Pastor Wes Tayloe officiating.
