Kenneth Albert Roebuck, 75, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., went to his Heavenly home Monday, October 15, 2012, at his residence.
Mr. Roebuck was born March 30, 1937, in Lawerence, Mass. He had previously lived in Jackson, Mo., and most of his life in Massachusetts. Mr. Roebuck attended Southside Assembly of God. He had worked at Wang Laboratories, a computer manufacturing factory. Ken loved reading books. He loved to read his Bible and talk about Heaven. He enjoyed telling funny jokes and making people laugh, as well as writing letters and keeping in touch with family and friends. He taught Sunday School for over 25 years in Mass. He was an interesting speaker, which people loved.
On February 2, 1987, he married Verna Hays, in Massachusetts. She survives. Also surviving are his two children, David Roebuck and wife Cindy,of Orlando, Florida and Brenda Davis of Methun Ma; three step children, Julie Epps and husband, Glenn of Poplar Bluff, Chris and husband, John Guerrero of Jackson, Mo. and Col. Glenn Hillis II, of Washington, D.C. ; one brother, Charles and wife, Vee Roebuck of San Diego, CA and a brother-in-law, Bobby Hays of Doniphan; his grandchildren, Lacey and Ryan Sampson of Haverhill, Ma.; step-grandchildren, Glenn Epps III of Puxico, Aaron Epps of Poplar Bluff, Adam Epps of Poplar Bluff and Caroline Hillis of Maryland; numerous great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and one cousin, Doris Fleek.
Visitation will be 6p.m. Wed. October 17, 2012, at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar St., Poplar Bluff, Mo. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thurs. October 18, 2012, at the Southside Assembly of God Church, 512 West Midland St., Poplar Bluff, with Pastor Jerry Lemons and Rev. Glenn Epps III officiating. Burial will be in Corning Cemetery in Corning Arkansas.
