Lee Roy Winder, 72 of Poplar Bluff passed away April 26, 2011 at his daughter's home in Poplar Bluff, due to him being evacuated from his home because of the flood waters. Visitation will be from 4-6PM Thurs. 28th at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home 844 Cedar St. Poplar Bluff. Funeral service will follow at 6PM in chapel with Rev. Shelvie Stephens officiating.
Mr. Winder was born Aug. 8, 1938 in Huntington Beach Ca to the late Clifton Winder and Goldie Hast-Winder. He was a member of Calvary Community Church and of the Eagles in Poplar Bluff. He was a retired over the road truck driver and enjoyed playing dominoes, doing word searches, barbecuing and family time. On March 16, 1968 he married Joyce Clark in Poplar Bluff and she survives.
Also surviving are his children; Pamela Phillips of California; Robin Martin (Bob) O'Fallon; Tracy Clark-Winder P.B.; James Winder (Donna) Qulin; Lori Townsend (Kevin) P.B.; Michelle Elder (Jack) Naylor 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and five sisters; Lovetta Burkett, Oglesville; Mae Foura, Michigan; Edith Helsel, P.B.; Fay Faughn, P.B.; and Dorothy Loughlin, Qulin. Also surviving is his mother-in-law Martha Clark.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Virginia Gower; and two brothers; James and William Winder
