Leslie Charles St.Cin, Sr 97, of Neelyville, Missouri died Wednesday, March 14, 2012. He was born on February 13, 1915, in Perkins, Missouri. the son of Charles David St.Cin Jr. and Vernia Pirtle St. Cin.
At a Young age, Leslie joined a Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) camp where he helped in building bridges and planting trees at the local parks providing beauty to the St.Louis area. He enjoyed playing baseball while there, where a scout recognized his potential in pitching. Although he never did play major league baseball, he remained a St.Louis Cardinal's fan his entire life. He was married to Anna Marie Cassinger in 1941 and from that union was born their four children. He worked at American Steel several years and then for McCabe-Powers Body company from which he retired in 1980 after completing 28 years of service. After retiring, he moved back home to the Neelyville, Missouri area where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his 4-wheeler, doing yard work and many other things.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother; two brothers Clarence and Ed St.Cin. and two sisters Elva St.Cin and Velva St.Cin.
He is survived by; his two daughters, Bonnie St.Cin Taylor and husband John and Patricia St.Cin Leonard and husband David both of Corning, Arkansas. and his two sons. Larry St. cin and wife Diana of Carterville, Ill. and Leslie Charles St.Cin, Jr. and wife Linda of Elkville, Ill.. Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation for Mr. St.Cin will be Saturday March 17, 2012 starting at 11:00 am with the funeral following at 12:00 pm in the Fowler-Sullivan memorial chapel in Neelyville, Missouri. Burial will be in the Coon Island Cemetery at Neelyville, Missouri. Rev Allen Leuter officiating.
