Lloyd Beard

Lloyd Beard, 89, of Naylor Mo., died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, at Southeast Health Center of Ripley County in Doniphan, Mo. Mr. Beard was born Oct. 13, 1924, in Lilbourn, Mo., and was a saw mill operator. He had lived in Naylor for 60 years, and he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He is survived by his companion and good friend Mary West, and her son, Jim Greer. Other survivors include one daughter, Kathy Beard of Arizona; two sisters, Ruth Francisco of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Doris Buhler of Piedmont, Mo.; two grandchildren, Kevin Walls and Teresa Woods, both of Arizon; and two great-grandchildren, Alecia Ruiz of Pensacola, Fla., and Sylvie Woods of Arizona. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Mildred Elaine Beard; one sister, Rose Buhler; two brothers, William and Doyle Beard, and his parents, William Beard and Ethel Kirk Beard. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Black Creek Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
