Lonnie Kirby

Lonnie Kirby, 76, of, Poplar Bluff, MO passed away on May 14, 2024, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Lonnie was born on November 20, 1947, to Olen and Evelyn (Harris) Kirby in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.  He married Glenda (Vineyard), she survives. Lonnie served his country in the Marines, where he did two tours of duty in Vietnam while participating in over 20 campaigns.  He later then retired from the Mingo Job Corps as an automotive instructor.  The best job he ever had was being Lonnie Pa.  He was also an avid hunter and fisher. Lonnie is survived by spouse, Glenda Kirby, son, Austin Kirby (Kristy) son, John Kirby (Chrissy), sister, Iva Heil, granddaughter, Hein Brooke (Jake), granddaughter, Morgan Stucker-Phelan (Rusty), grandson, Connor Kirby, grandson, Ethan Pollard, and 4 Great Grandchildren Lucas, Jace, Amelia and Rhett. Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents, Olen and Evelyn Kirby. There will be a graveside service at 2pm Friday, May 17, 2024, at City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff with full military honors.
