Loren Leon Murray 83, of Poplar Bluff,Mo., passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at his residence.
Mr. Murray was born November 8, 1930, at Harviell Mo. to the late Lawrence and Dolores Lois (Randles) Murray. He joined the Navy in November 1950, and served as a seaman apprentice on USS Robert F-Keller DE-419 until September 1954. He worked at Florsheim Shoe Company for more than 30 years and also worked at Three Rivers College. He enjoyed coon hunting and deer hunting.
On September 5, 1959, he married Wanda (Vankirk) Murray, in Poplar Bluff. She survives.
Other survivors include two children, James C. Bausworth and wife, Paula, and Karen G. Steele and husband, Freddy; two sisters, Darlene Hastings and June Murray; his grandchildren, Chris Bausworth and wife, Mindy, Eric Bausworth and wife, Michelle, and Cole Steele; great-grandchildren, Emily, Ashley, Abbey, Melanie, and Joshua Bausworth.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 7,2013 at 1 p.m. at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m in the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery with Mr. Murray's brother- in-law, Rev. Leroy Murray officiating.
