Louis Authar Eakins

Louis Authar Eakins, 82, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri passed away April 29, 2017 at the Manor in Poplar Bluff. He was born September 13, 1934 at New Madrid, Missouri to the late Leslie Eakins ad Etta Mae Gray Eakins. On June 22, 1963 at Neelyville, Missouri he was married Ruby Dollins. She preceded him in death on April 13, 2012. He is survived by; two children; Anthony "Tony" Eakins and wife Carlotta of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and Rosie Counts and husband Justin of Campbell, Missouri. One brother Roy Eakins of Piedmont, Missouri. Five grandchildren; Marcus Martin, Holly Eakins Fowler, Ethan Eakins, Michaela Eakins, and Joel Counts. great grandchildren; Mia Martin, Harper Martin and Dexter Martin. He was preceded in death by is wife, parents, son, Michael Eakins and daughter Ann Marie Eakins as well as one sister, Margaret wens and two brothers, Kenneth Eakins and Thomas Eakins. Two grandchildren; Noah Counts and Zoe Counts. He had served in the United States Army and ad worked for municipal utilities in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and his grandchildren. Visitation will begin after 6pm Friday, May 5, 2017 in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel, Inc. of Neelyville, Missouri starting at 6:00 p.m.. Funeral will be Saturday, May 6, 2017 in the Neelyville chapel at 2pm. Burial will be in the Roberts Cemetery with Pastor Tim Freeman officiating with Jimmy Gilbert assisting.
