Lula Mae Penrod

Lula Mae Grimes Penrod 89, of Poplar Bluff, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 14, 2015 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born August 13, 1925, to the late Norman L. and Sarah Hancock Grimes in Neeyville. On April 8, 1944 she was united in marriage to William G. Penrod St. at Corning, Arkansas. This union was blessed with five Children. Lula will always be remembered by all who knew her for her gift of cooking and caring for others, She loved gardening and was a "grandma" to all children who know her. she attended the Palace of Praise church until her health prevented her from doing so.. Survivors include on e son, William (Joyce Penrod of Poplar Bluff: three daughter, Carolyn Kellems and Mary (Rick) Sells of Poplar Bluff and Sandra Weiss of Alton, M.; one daughter-in-law, Druzilla Penrod of Poplar bluff, nine grandchildren: Kim (Mark) McMullin, Jamie (David) Stinsen, Jessica Sells, and Ryan Sells, all of Poplar Bluff, Orlando (AnnaStacia) Penrod of Ellsworth, Iowa, Dan (Shannon) Penrod of Villa Ridge, Mo., Sara (Justin) Kelley of Bloomfield, John Ross Weiss of Alton and Stacey (Vernon) Barker of Neelyville. She is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Geneva Crossen of Poplar Bluff and Thelma Penrod of Neelyville; and numerous nieces and nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Thomas Penrod; one granddaughter, Sheila Penrod; one great-grandson, Nathaniel Penrod; one sister, five brothers, and two son-in-laws. The visitation will from 6 pm to 9 pm Tuesday at the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel in Neelyville. The graveside service will be at 11 am Wednesday at the Kinsey Cemetery in Harviell with Bro. Kent Miller officiating.
