Martin "Marty" Michael Metzing

Martin "Marty" Michael Metzing, of Poplar Bluff, passed away, Sunday, June 12, 2011 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center, at the age of 71. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar Street, Poplar Bluff, Mo. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 16, 2011 in the chapel. Rev. Brent Seawel will officiate. Burial in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Hwy. 21 north, Doniphan, Mo. Mr. Metzing was born July 21, 1939 at Brooklyn, New York to parents Christian Metzing and Helen (Witty) Metzing. Both preceding him death. He enjoyed flea marketing and ministry work, and was a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church. On May 21, 2002, he married Sue Ann (Davis) Metzing at Dexter, Missouri. She survives. Also surviving are his children; Richard A. Metzing, Fort Worth, Texas, Michael Metzing, Jeffersonville, Indiana, Melanie Hill, Fairdealing, Mo., William C. Metzing, Fairdealing, Mo., and Phillip Metzing, High Ridge, Mo. Thirty-six grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren survive.
