Mary Frances Toombs

Mary Frances Toombs, 89, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Sunday, July 12, 2015 at Mark Twain Caring Center.

Mrs. Toombs was born December 7, 1925, in Plataka, Ark., to the late John J. and Effie Rose Alexander. She was a member to the Episcopal Church of Holy Cross in Poplar Bluff. She retired from H.W. Gossard Garment Factory in Poplar Bluff and enjoyed sewing, crochet, canning and visiting with family.

She was married to Olen Roy Toombs July 17, 1946. He preceded her in death November 25, 1977. She had previously married Peter J. Davi August 11, 1944. He preceded her in death October 17, 2010.

She is survived by her children, Carla Aldridge (Earve Jr.),Barbara Davis, Wayne Glen Toombs, Norma Easter, Timothy Toombs (Kimberley), Rose Mary Wallace (Kevin), George Toombs, Teresa Toombs and Sally Owens (Andrew); 35 grandchildren and 67 great-grandchildren as well as other loving family members, Barbara K. Heart and Pamela Clanahan.

Also preceding her in death include one sister, Elizabeth Cortney; five brothers, John H. Alexander, Joe Alexander, Joseph Alexander, Carl Alexander, and Gene Alexander.

Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at the Episcopal Church of Holy Cross, 420 N. Main Street, Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the church with Rev. Annette Joseph officiating. Burial will be in the Black Creek Cemetery.
