Michael Harwell

Sergeant First Class (SFC) Michael L. Harwell, 82, of Poplar Bluff, MO passed away on March 31, 2024, at his home in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, surrounded by his family. Michael was born on August 14, 1941, to Edwin and Hallie (Witmer) Harwell.  He married Sue Vinson on Dec. 16,1966 in Poplar Bluff. Michael enjoyed carpentry work, music, good movies, flea markets and going to McDonald's South.  Michael also served 22 years in the United States Army. Michael is survived by his wife Wanda Sue (Vinson) Harwell, children; Correna Sue Vaughn (Harwell), Troy Harwell and wife Rebecca, grandchildren; Hailey Harwell, Alexis "Lexi" Vaughn, Gavin Vaughn, other members of the family; Vickie, Steven, Scotty, Sammy, Karrol, and many nieces and nephews. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Monterey Sanders. Visitation will be held on Wednesday April 3, 2024, from 11am-12pm at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home 701 Vine Street in Poplar Bluff. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, April 3, at 12 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Kenny Durham officiating. Burial will take place at the City Cemetery with full military honors.
