Modell Braun

Modell Braun, 99, of Naylor died Sunday October 9, 2011 at Ripley County Memorial Hospital in Doniphan, Missouri. She was born September 3, 1912 in Searcy, Arkansas. She married Herald Braun on March 6, 1937 in Reyno, Arkansas. He preceded her in death April 23, 2000. She was of the Baptist faith. Her parents were Thomas Jefferson and Sally Caroline Carter Menser. Surviving are two daughters Peggy Covington of Azle, Texas, and Phyllis and Robert Tyra of Naylor, Missouri. She leaves four grandchildren, Eric and Leslee Covington of Colleyville, Texas, Linda and Bryan Dumesnil of Houston, Texas, Robert Tyra of Springfield, and Nathan and Jennifer Tyra of St. Peters. And most special of all to her were her great grandchildren Bryan Jr. and Lauren Dumesnil, and Ethan Tyra. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Cecile Menser of Temple Terrace, Florida, three nieces, Eva and J.R. Brown of Poplar Bluff, Joyce and Joe Whitmer of Yucca Valley, California, and Helen and Fred Harris of Temple Terrance, Florida. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Aubrey Menser, and Ollie Menser, and sisters Clarice Smith and Susie Heath. Visitation for Mrs Braun will be Thursday October 13, 2011 starting at 6:00 p.m. with the funeral Friday at 2:00 p.m. in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel at Neelyville, Missouri. Burial will be be in the New Hope Cemetery near Doniphan, Missouri following services. Dr. Michael Phelps will be officiating.
