Mother Dora Teague

January 6, 1920 — December 15, 2016

Mother Dora Nora Lee Teague was born January 6, 1920 in Arkansas to Burdell Sammy and Louise McGaughy Spearman. Dora was the only child born into this union. Her mother died when she was very young and she was raised by her Grandmother Sally & Uncle Ben McGaughy. She grew up in a small town in Arkansas and received her primary and secondary education in the public school system. Dora had a relationship with and received Jesus Christ at a young age. She firmly stood on the word of God from 2nd Corinthians 5:7 "walk by faith and not by sight" The wife of the late James U. Teague, Mother Dora very peacefully departed this life Thursday, December 15, 2016, at 8:35 P.M. surrounded by her daughters Beverly Ann & Gloria in West Norriton, Pennsylvania. Early in life Mother Dora met and married James U. Teague at the age of 15 years old. From this union they were blessed with eleven children, six sons and five daughters. Mother Dora and James Teague worked hard to establish and build a Godly foundation for their family. Together they raised their children according to Proverbs 13:24. "Spare the rod spoils the child". Later in life, mother was employed for 13 years in the Environmental Services Department, Lucy Lee Hospital in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Mother Dora loved her home church and loved to work in the church. Her dedication and vision for her church were timeless. She worked very hard in outreach ministry and felt it a privilege and blessing to serve the least of them. Mother Dora started the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church Homecoming 36 years ago as a way to raise money for the church’s outreach ministry. She was supported and encouraged by Mary Lou Fields and remained faithful and devoted to this ministry throughout her life. What a Blessing it has been to the church and the body of Christ in our community. She had a quiet, gentle, and a loving spirit. She loved her family deeply and was always there with encouraging words and a helping hand. She was a woman of great Godly wisdom and Godly intellect. She was loved by all who knew her. She was truly a mother indeed and her love was felt throughout her family from generation to generation.
