Nellie Christine Woods

Nellie Christine Woods, 94, of Poplar Bluff, MO passed away on May 31, 2026, at Prairie View Nursing in Bloomfield, Missouri.

Nellie was born on January 15, 1932, to Orian and Iva (Upchurch) Agee in Butler County, Missouri. She married Richard L. Woods on April 14, 1949, in Piggott, AR. He preceded her in death.

Nellie was a long-time member of Agee Fellowship Church, where she had been a youth leader and taught children's Sunday School classes for 27 years. She was also a member of the Federal Women's Club, Oak Grove Community Club and Agee Community Club. She was retired from Social Security Administration.

Nellie enjoyed raising flowers, collecting Fiesta pottery, Fenton glass, Barbie Dolls, and she enjoyed boating, swimming and skiing events. She also enjoyed all of her children and grandchildren's sporting events.

Nellie is survived by children, Ronald Woods (Donna), Denise Cope (James), Randy Woods MD (Buffy), Roger Woods MD (Barbara); grandchildren, David Woods (Kasie), Amy Cope, Sierra Dawn Richard (Aaron), Levi Woods, Lyndsey Powell (Currie), Drew Woods, Mason Woods, step granddaughter, Christina Sita (Fred); Great grandchildren, June, Olivi, Holden, Ellis, Audrey, Ronan and a brother, James Agee (Dee).

Nellie was preceded in death by parents, husband, Richard L. Woods, grandson, Lucas Cope, and grandson Charles Kevin Woods as well as two brothers, Fred and Charles Agee.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday June 3 from 1 pm to 2 pm at Agee Fellowship Church 38 CR 525 Poplar Bluff, MO. Funeral services will then begin at 2 pm at the church with Rev. Jim Schremp officiating.

Burial will take place at Nunn Cemetery in Butler County, MO
