Oda Lee Mace

Oda Lee Mace, 86, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Mace was born September 22, 1929 in New Madrid County Mo., to the late Otis Leander Bracey and Edna (Householder) Bracey. Oda was raised by her grandparents, William and Daisey Householder, since she was three years old. Mrs. Mace was a retired nurse assistant from Lucy Lee Hospital. She enjoyed growing flowers, doing puzzles, reading the Bible, music and dancing. She also did lots of volunteer work. She was of the Baptist faith. On August 10, 1946 she married Thomas Austin Mace Jr., in New Madrid. He preceded her in death in June 2003. Two daughters, Barbara Diane Moore and Wanda Ruth Mace also preceded her in death. Survivors include her children, Patsy Guevara and husband, Angel, Carolyn Hanna and husband, Harvey, Thomas Eugene Mace and wife, Debra, William David Mace and wife, Letha, Edward Arlene Mace, Terry Blowers and husband, Richard, and Michael Dewayne Mace and wife, Mary; sixteen grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be held at 6p.m. Sunday, May 15, 2016 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff. Funeral service will begin 10a.m. Monday, May 16, 2016 with Rev. Calvin Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the Dunning Cemetery.
