Phyllis Elizabeth Lawson, 88, of Dexter, MO passed away on March 22, 2026, at Memory Lane Nursing Center in Dexter, Missouri.
Phyllis was born on March 13, 1938, to George and Marion Elizabeth (Blalock) New in Clarkton, Missouri. She married Cloyce Lawson on June 24, 1956, in Clarkton, Mo.
Phyllis was a faithful and active member of Temple Baptist Church, where she was in the choir, the nursing home ministry, helped each year with Vacation Bible School and was a member of the Disaster Relief chainsaw ministry. She and Cloyce "Bud" did like to travel during the off season of farming. Phyllis was the valedictorian of the Clarkton High School class of 1956.
Phyllis is survived by her son Mark Lawson and wife Susan; granddaughter, Kristi Lawson, grandson, Steven Lawson and wife Savannah); granddaughter Stephanie Lambert; great grandchildren; Michelle, Dillan, Isabell, Lucy, Lucas, sister; Cathy Hale and daughter-in-law; Angie Lawson.
Phyllis was preceded in death by Husband, Cloyce Lawson, son David Lawson, sister, Barbara Kinard, and brother, George New.
Visitation will be held on Thursday March 26, 2026, from 10-11 a.m. at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home 701 Vine St. Poplar Bluff
Funeral services will begin at 11am in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ron Daughhetee officiating. Burial will take place at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
