Richard Eddie Oakes

Richard Eddie Oakes, 74, of Poplar Bluff, MO passed away on December 01, 2023, at his home in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Richard was born on August 12, 1949, to Richard and Ettie (Woods) Dill in Missouri.  He married Peggy Oakes on December 2, 1978.  She preceded him in death on November 14,2022. Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing and collecting different items.  Richard retired from Poplar Bluff City after 20 plus years. Richard is survived by sons, Michael Oakes, Richard Anthony Oakes, grandson, Isaiah Michael Beda Oakes, sister, Marie Garner and many other close friends and family. Richard was preceded in death by Wife, Peggy Oakes and brother, Larry Oakes. Memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, from 10am to 11am at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff, MO.  The memorial service will then begin at 11am with Shane Mallard and Justin Benfiel officiating.   Inurnment to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.
