Rickie Alan Tipton

Rickie Alan Tipton, age 63, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Friday, November 2, 2012, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Mr. Tipton was born August 16, 1949 in Poplar Bluff. He attended New Home General Baptist Church and was a Mason. He served in the United States Navy. He had retired as a journeyman lineman from Municipal Utilities in Poplar Bluff. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gun shows, auctions and the sale barn. On August 31, 2012, he married Kerry Kim (Cato) Tipton in Poplar Bluff. She survives. He previously was married to Barbara Sue (Bilderback) Casteel, the mother of his children. She also survives. Also surviving are his children, Michelle Tipton-Antonio and husband, Julio of Poplar Bluff, and Todd Tipton of Poplar Bluff; his step children, Heath Willis and wife, Kellie of Dexter, and Jodi Willis of Neelyville; his mother, Norma Lee Tipton of Wappapello; a sister, LeeAnn Brannum and husband, Johnny of Poplar Bluff; a brother, Russell Lynn Tipton and wife, Sue Ann of Wappapello; his grandchildren, Alexis Tipton and Rylee Tipton of Poplar Bluff; step grandchildren, Emma Willis and Havyn Willis-King of Neelyville and Keira Willis and Ethan Willis of Dexter. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; his sister-in-laws, Luana (Tom)Meitz of Kirkwood, Mo., Claudia (Jerry) Dawson of Harviell, Barbara (Gary) Cochran of Arnold, Vicki (Jerry)Armes of Harviell, and Gloria (Dannie) Daugherty of Poplar Bluff; a brother-in-law; Ted (Joyce) Croy of High Ridge, Mo. He was preceded in death by his father, Hardin Lynn Tipton, on June 14, 2011. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Monday Nov.5, 2012, at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar St. ,Poplar Bluff, Mo. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m., in the chapel, with Rev. Calvin Buhler officiating.
