Robert Lee Cooley, 89, of Doniphan, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. He was born January 28, 1927 in Locust Grove, Arkansas to the late George Washington Watt Cooley and Tennie "Lofton" Cooley.
On November 18, 1944 at New Madrid, Missouri He was married to Mary Christine Smith. She preceded him in death on April 18, 2015.
He is survived by his children; Gail Turner and husband Rich of Protem, Missouri; Larry Cooley of Cahokia, Illinois; Patricia Meadors and husband Guy of Doniphan, Missouri; Mary Williams of Baldwin, Illinois; Kathleen Kerperien and husband Gary Baldwin, Illinois ; David Cooley of Desoto, Missouri; Doyle Cooley and wife Joann of O'Fallon, Illinois' Ralph Cooley, of Columbia, Illinois; and Donnie Cooley of Freeburg, Illinois, One brother; James Cooley of Brighton, Illinois. He is survived by 111 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife and parents as well as a son; Robert W. Cooley; a brother Jimmy D. Cooley and two sisters; Annie Dunn and Hattie Taber as well as two grandchildren Wesley Jay Meadors and Gary Anthony "Tony" Kerperien.
He was a member of the New Life Pentecostal Church of Doniphan, Missouri and had retired from as a maintance worker for Carter Carburetor. He enjoyed fishing, horse racing and his church New Life Pentecostal Church where he was a faithful member.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Saturday November 5, 2016 with the funeral following at 1:00pm. All services will be at the New Life Pentecostal Church on Brooks Lane of Doniphan, Missouri. Pastor Harold Sheppard officiating with the Burial in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Doniphan, Missouri.
