Robert Gene Hamilton

Robert Gene Hamilton, 77, of Hillsboro, Mo, passed away Saturday, August 23, 2014 at the St. Anthony’s Hospital in St Louis, Mo. Mr. Hamilton was born on July 8, 1937, in St Louis, to the late Harold J. Hamilton Sr. and Elaenor (McKinney) Hamilton. He was married to Diannia (Sales) Hamilton on September 10, 1982 in Jefferson Co. She survives. He was a commercial electrician and enjoyed fishing and growing roses. He was of the Lutheran belief. Survivors include his children, Shelly Byington, Balinda Jennewein (Carl), and Robert Fowler (Ginger); two sisters, Dorthy Mills and Nancy Olinger; two half- brothers; James McKinney and Oliver McKinney; 9 grandchildren, Abby Byington, Makayla Byington, Ricky Caldwell, Dekota Turner, Carl Jennewein Jr., Andrea Jennewein, Tasha Steffens, Danielle Gassner and Chris Steffens. He was also a great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as three sisters, Helen Hawkins, Pat Smith and Hermina Hamilton and two brothers, Harold J. Hamilton and Martin Hamilton. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff, followed by funeral services at 2:30 p.m. Pastor Rowdy Boyer will officiate. Burial will be held in Memorial Gardens, Poplar Bluff.
