Robert Allen "Sonny" Reed

Robert Allen "Sonny" Reed, 68, of Doniphan, Mo., passed away Sunday, January 22, 2017 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Sonny was born August 19, 1948 in Catron, Mo., son of the late Robert Edward Reed and Helen Marie (Whitaker) Reed. He was a bus mechanic for the Doniphan R-1 School, from which he retired. He greatly enjoyed handling race horses and watching westerns. Survivors include his sons, Robert Dale Reed (Lorie) of Bernie, Mo. and Micheal Allen Reed of Campbell; two sisters, Brenda Kay Blurton (Jim) of Poplar Bluff and Patricia Sue Moman (Frank) of Doniphan; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Reed; his grandchildren, Kellie Renee Reed, Ryan Chandler Reed and a step-grandson, Bryan Christopher Condict; as well as 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Norma Reed and Joann (Reed) Whoberry; one brother, Ronald Norman Reed and his special companion, Judy Reed. Visitation will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff, followed by the funeral service at 1 p.m., in the chapel, with Pastor Todd Taylor officiating. He will be laid to rest in Memorial Gardens.
