Roger Earl Johnson Sr. 68, of Qulin, Mo., passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014 at his home.
Mr. Johnson was born November 20, 1945, in Jamestown, New York, to the late, Alton T. and Olive Joan (Jude) Johnson. A farmer, he enjoyed outdoor work and playing pool. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of the American Legion VFW. Mr. Johnson was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his companion, Rhonda Johnson; his children, Julie Dutton (Glen) of Dayton, Tx., Roger Earl Johnson Jr. (Tammy) of Floresville,Tx., Ronald Johnson of Qulin, Rita Wise (Chris) of Decatur, Ill., and Rebecca Johnson of Poplar Bluff; two sisters, Joan Johnson of Minn. and Lois Drysdale of Poplar Bluff; one brother, Thomas Johnson of New York; and five grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Alvin Johnson and Theodore A. Johnson.
Visitation will be held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014, followed by the funeral service at 10 a.m. at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff, with Ron Fowler officiating. Burial will be held May 1, 2014 at the Mo. State Veterans Cemetery, in Bloomfield, Mo., with full military honors.
