Ronnie Phelps

Ronnie Evan Phelps, 69, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Thursday, June 19, 2014, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Mr. Phelps was born July 11, 1944 in Poplar Bluff. He retired from Chrysler and enjoyed fishing, playing cards and cooking. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a beloved dad, son, brother, uncle and friend. On March 13, 1978, he married Francis Bebout, who survives. Other survivors are five children, Phil Phelps of Tucson, Ariz., Victoria Phelps of Langley, British Columbia, David Phelps of Vancouver, British Columbia, Dawn Thompson of Poplar Bluff and Ronnie Phelps of Chippewa Falls, Wis.; his mother, Merle Gunter; one sister, Judy Whittington; and long time friend, Bill Stupfell. He was preceded in death by his father, Phil Phelps and one brother, Gary Phelps. Visitation was held from 3-5 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff.
