Roy Eugene "Gene" Mckinney

Roy Eugene "Gene" McKinney, 76, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2012 in Poplar Bluff. Mr. McKinney was born February 22, 1936 in Butler County, Mo. Mr. McKinney was a lifelong resident of Butler County. He was retired from the Florshiem Shoe Factory where he worked as a supervisor. He enjoyed deer hunting and going to auctions. In July 1997 he was married to Wilma Dowd-McKinney in Corning, Arkansas. She survives. He was previously married to Shirley Monday, who preceded him in death in 1993. Also surviving are children; Richard McKinney, Terry McKinney, Tammy Hayes and husband Steve, and Randy McKinney; sisters; Pansey Jenkins and husband Bruce and Dorothy Garrett and husband John; brother; Norman McKinney; seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Mr. McKinney was preceded in death by his parents; Henry McKinney and Anna Georgia McKinney Visitation will be held 11 a.m. Monday, November 19, 2012 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar Street. A graveside service will be held at 1 a.m. at HamTown Cemetery, with Rev. Ralph Mayes officiating.
