Ruby C Eakins

Ruby C. Eakins, 66 of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away April 13, 2012 at her residence. She was born, January 30, 1946 at Neelyville, Missouri, to the late Carl Roosevelt Dollins and Ava Fay Glasgow Dollins. On June 22, 1963 at Neelyville, Missouri, she was married to Louis Eakins. She survives. Also surviving; one daughter, Rosie Counts and husband Justin of Campbell, Missouri and one son Anthony "Tony" Eakins and wife Carlotta of Poplar Bluff, Missouri.Two sisters also survive, Carlena Smith and husband Jim of Neelyville, Missouri and Minnie Smith and Clarence of Neelyville, Missouri. Four grandchildren; Marcus Martin, Holly Eakins, Ethan Eakins, Michaela Eakins and one great grandchild, Miah Martin all of Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Mrs. Eakins was preceded in death by her parents as well as two children, Michael Eakins and Anna Marie Eakins. One Brother Richard Dollins Mrs Eakins had worked as a social worker for Butler and Ripley Counties and was a member of the Fellowship Southern Baptist Church. She had a day care where she enjoyed taking care of foster children, taking pictures and shopping as well as yard sales. Visitation for Mrs Eakins will be April 16, 2012 starting at 6:00 p.m. in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel with the funeral April 17, 2012 starting at 2:00 p.m.. Burial will be in the Roberts Cemetery following services with Pastor Tim Freeman officiating and Pastor Jimmy Gilbert assisting.
