Ruby Ellen Hatton

Ruby E. Hatton, 87, of Oxly, Mo., died Saturday, April 6, 2013 at her residence. She was born October 3, 1925 at Linden , Tennessee to the Late Eugene and Minnie Jones Mercer. On October 18, 1943, at Caruthersville, Mo., she was married to Ben F. Hatton. He preceded her in death on July 9, 1996. She is survived by her children, Ben Hatton of Fairdealing, Mo., Bob Hatton and wife, Marte of Fairdealing, Mo., Marion Reed and husband, Bob of Oxly, Mo., and Regina Wilson and husband, Rex of Oxly, Mo. Twelve grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one daughter Shelia McCain and three infant grandsons, as well as one sister, Marty McMullugh and two brothers, J.J. Mercer and Hove Mercer. Mrs. Hatton was a member of the Victory Christian Church of God and she enjoyed cooking, and working on word search puzzels, gardening and singing. Visitation for Mrs. Hatton will be Tuesday April 9, 2013 starting at 11:00am in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel, with the funeral following at 2:00 pm. Burial will be in the Kinsey Cemetery. Pastor Jim Hoyt officiating.
