Ruthie Diane Smith

Ruthie Diane Smith, 65, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., formerly of Blytheville, Arkansas, died Sunday, June 16, 2013 at the Mark Twain Caring Center. Mrs. Smith was born July 11, 1947, in Blytheville, to the late Gifford and Lula (Magill) Sipes. She was a member of the Palace of Praise Church in Poplar Bluff and was a homemaker. She was married to Jim Smith, who preceded her in death on June 2, 2010. Also preceding her in death, one step-daughter, Judy Sparks. Survivors include her children, Lisa Smith, Timmy Emery; step-children, Lee, Danny, Rosemary, Cathy, Dewayne, Mitchell, Mark, and Mike; sisters, Freda Alford and Darlene Watts; one special sister-inlaw, Marvelene Riepe; one special niece, Denise Gehlbach; and many grand and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar Street, Poplar Bluff. Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Mole Hill Cemetery, near Broseley, Mo. with Ron Fowler officiating.
