Samuel David Mays

Samuel David Mays, 53, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Mr. Mays was born April 18, 1962 in Chicago, Ill. He was of the Baptist faith. He worked as a construction iron worker. He enjoyed camping, barbecues and going to auctions. Survivors include his father, James Mays and step-mother, Mary Helen Mays; two sisters, Laurinda Parker and husband, Frank of Deland, Fl. and Vicky Mays of Peoria, Ill.; one brother, Troy Mays; as well as a special friend, Tammy Meador, and several cousins. He is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Ann (Henry) Mays; a sister, Teresa Annelo and brother, Steven Mays. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m., in the chapel, with Rev. Matt Stahlman officiating. Burial will be held in the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
