Marvin Ray Powell, Sr., 74, of El Paso, Ark., formerly of Poplar Bluff, passed away December 31, 2014, at Little Rock, Ark.
He was born January 1, 1940 in Poplar Bluff to the late Ephraim and Blanche Powell. Self-employed, he owned a harness and tack shop. He loved working with horses, building wagons and being with family.
On April 8, 1958, he married Thelma (Costin) Powell in Poplar Bluff. She survives.
Other survivors include his children, Dusty (Cathy) Powell, Sr. of Poplar Bluff, Lori (Joe) Dobbs of Conway, Ark., Marvin (Alysia) Powell Jr., of Little Rock, and Darren (Jo Ann) Powell of Harviell; 10 grandchildren, Dusty Powell, Jr., Cindy Elliott, Jessica Gray, Wesley and Jesse Harlan, Zachary and Brennon Powell , Dustin Powell and Justin and Austin Ward; as well as 16 great-grandchildren.
