Susan Fortner South, 86, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., passed away January 8, 2015 at NHC Nursing Home in Maryland Heights , Mo.
She was born March 26, 1928, in Tennessee, to the late Henry Turnage and Bertha (Adkins) Turnage. She attended Highland Drive Church of Christ. She also enjoyed playing bingo and flowers. She retired from Ritenour High School.
Survivors include her children, Barry Taylor and wife Debbie, Glenda Taylor Pessetti and husband, John and Michael Taylor and wife, Caron; three grandchildren, Christa Hinojosa, Amanda Anderson and Alanna Shepard, as well as two great-grandchild, Oliva Hinojosa and Timothy Shepard
She is preceded in death by a son, R. Steven Taylor and husbands, Hollis South and Norman Fortner and a great-granddaughter, Alicia Hinojosa.
Visitation will begin at noon Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m., in the chapel, with Rev. Vernon Curry officiating. Burial will be in the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
