Terry Lee Brockman

Terry Lee Brockman

October 18, 1947 - July 23, 2026

Terry (never Terrence!!) was born to Kenneth Lee Brockman and Ila Madge Brockman (Sites) in Dayton, Ohio on October 18, 1947. He lived around the Dayton, Ohio area until the age of 10 before moving to the desert southwest of Phoenix, Arizona.

While living in Phoenix, Terry was involved in many activities with the local Boy Scout group; specifically in the Sky-High Pioneer Boy Scout group. This group learned to parachute jump where he logged several jumps and also became a master rigger. Terry has several-hundred logged jumps with private groups after aging out of the scouts.

Terry attended South Mountain High before the next part of his life would begin when he voluntarily enlisted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was stationed on Da Nang Army Base where he was a specialist with the teletype systems that were used for communications. In fact, he was restricted from leaving the base during his service because his work was so vital to the United States Army. Terry’s family is very proud of his service as a United States Army Veteran and we are thankful he came back to us alive and well.

Upon returning stateside, he continued his education at Phoenix College where he earned his requirements to become a licensed electrician. He had a full career with the City of Phoenix as an electrician and retired after over 30 years of service.

Terry married his wife Anita Williams on December 21, 1987 and step-son, Shawn Fuehrer, joined his mom with her new husband. In the early 1990s, Siad Robinson would also come to join the Brockman clan as a family member. On November 10, 1995 a daughter was born to Anita and Terry rounding out the children in the family.

After many years in the desert southwest, Terry pulled stakes in Arizona for a move to Myrtle, Missouri in 2000. Terry continued to raise his family in Missouri where he was involved in many aspects of his children’s lives, including being a gymnastics dad, and a bus driver for the local school during his daughter’s school years. His daughter has many fond memories of him being supportive of all her her sports and activities during school and being her biggest cheerleader.

Terry was an animal lover and seemed to always have a house full of dogs and other mixed creatures at any given moment. He owned horses in his younger years and did team roping at many of the local Tempe/Scottsdale horse stables in the early 1980s.

Terry is preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Dee Brockman, his sister, Rebecca Jane Bigger, his father, Kenneth Lee Brockman, his mother, Ila Madge Sites, his step-son, Shawn Fuhrer, and his wife, Anita Brockman. Terry is survived by his daughter, T’Ra Richardson (Joel), granddaughters, Makinzee, Maddison, Avirlyn Richardson, and a future grandson on his way, Siad Robinson, and sister, Kandy Knoblauch. Terry is also survived by nieces, nephews and several cousins as well.

Terry was liked by all and would do anything for anyone that asked for help. Oftentimes, this meant putting aside his own needs for the needs of others. He was known to be a kind and gentle person with a heart of gold. He could be generous to a fault and he loved his people. Terry will be missed by those he left behind. Rest well, Terry.
