Terry Douglas Pruitt, of Poplar Bluff, met the Lord Thursday, July 7, 2011 at the age of 59. Visitation will be at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Palace of Praise, Poplar Bluff. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Palace of Praise. Bishop Kent Miller and Rev. Randy West will officiate. Burial will be in the New Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Pruitt was born July 12, 1951 in Bandon, Oregon. He lived most of his life in Butler County. A member and elder at the Palace of Praise in Poplar Bluff, he started the cancer support program at the church. Mr. Pruitt served in the United States Army in Vietnam. He was a truck driver and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
On August 14, 1971 he married Veronica (McNew) Pruitt in Poplar Bluff. She survives. Also surviving are his children, daughter; Melissa Lovette and husband, Kevin, son; Kevin Pruitt and wife Tiffany, daughter; Sara Pruitt and Victor Murray, all of Poplar Bluff; his mother, Gladys (Bloomer) Pruitt of Poplar Bluff; one brother, Tom Pruitt of Springfield, Mo.; 7 grandchildren; Mikayla, Hannah, Aliya Lovette, Dylan, Blane, Jordan and Kadeence Pruitt.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Pruitt and two brothers, Rodger Pruitt and Donnie Pruitt.
