Tim D. Hovis

Tim D. Hovis, 70, of Doniphan, Missouri, passed away September 1, 2013 at his residence. He was born August 10, 1943 in Lansing, Michigan to the late Gravill Hovis and Mary Benton Hovis. Tim was a member of the Pilgrams Rest Church of Fairdealing, Missouri, where he had worked with the bus ministry. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. On April 13, 1968 at Doniphan, Missouri, He was married to Barbara Wilder. She survives. Also surviving his children; Gayla Secrest and husband David of Reyno, Arkansas and Bentley Hovis of Little Rock, Arkansas.Two Sisters, Polly Dill of Batesville, Arkansas and Frieda Nidaver of Davis Juction, Illinois. Two brothers, Tom Hovis and Mike Hovis both of Corning, Arkansas. As well as several nieces and nephews. and Great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as one sister; Maxine Goodman and one brother; Gary Hovis. Tim will be missed by his family as well as many friends. Visitation for Tim will be Tuesday September 3, 2013 in the Fowler-Sullivan Memorial Chapel of Neelyville, Missouri starting at 5:00 p.m. with the funeral Wednesday September 4, 2013 in the Pilgrams Rest Church at Fairdealing, Missouri starting at 2:30 pm. Burial will be in the Pilgrams Rest Cemetery with Rev. Marvins Richards officiating.
