Rev. Tommy Knodell,82, of Poplar Bluff passed away Dec. 18,2017 at Mark Twain Caring Center.
Mr. Knodell was born May 26,1935 in Wappapello. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf, and especially gospel music, singing with various quartets over the years including Little Brushy Quartet and the Gospel Lights. He also preached in nursing homes, and on local radio stations for 40 years. He also served in the National Guard.
On Dec. 24,1955 he married Joyce Knodell in Zion, Mo. She preceded him in death Nov.28,2014. Mr Knodell is survived by his children; Penny Keathley and husband Ken, Cynthia Barks and husband Cary, Kurt Knodell and wife Julie, grandchildren; Matthew Keathley and wife Deana, Allison Ladd and husband Aaron, Caleb and Cody Knodell, Kelly and Mallory Barks, great-grandchildren; Elliott, Grant, Lydia, and Jade Keathley, a brother Joe Knodell and wife Donna.
He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce, parents; Victor and Fannie Knodell.
Visitation will be Wed. Dec.20 from 5:30 to 7:30pm at First Baptist Church. The funeral will be Thurs. 10am at the church with Pastor Keith Carnahan officiating. Burial will be in Wappapello Cemetery.
