Velma Ward Shelton, 78, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. passed away Friday Oct. 29, 2010 at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Visitation will be held Monday Nov. 1, 2010 at 10 a.m. followed bya VFW Ladies Auxillary service at 10:30 prior to the funeral services at 11 a.m. at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home, 844 Cedar, Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Mrs. Shelton was born June 4, 1932 at Annapolis, Mo. She was a member of the Highland Drive Chruch of Christ. She retired as a medical insurance clerk at Kneibert Clinic. She enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
On Oct. 4, 1982, she was married to Emil Shelton at Poplar Bluff. He survives.
Also surviving are three children, Gary and Sandy Ward, Patty and Ronnie Harty and Joy and Ken Hicks, 17 grandchildren, Kelly and Chuck Bazzell, Kathy and Nathan Kirkley, Charlie and Dana Aubuchon, R.W. Harty, Racheal and Larry Clyburn, Jess and Jasmin Ward, Gary Ward II, Billy Waiz, Susan and Steve Gillihan, Shelly and Kyle Bourd, Casey Hicks, Jan and Carla Hicks, Scott Hicks, Ken Shelton, Evetta and ChesterPhillips, Christine Phillips and Scott Phillips; 23 great-Greatchildren Justin Kirkpatrick, Valerie Nomland, Robyn Nomland, Luke Haskanson, B.J. Walz, Tevor Walz, Alyson Clyburn, Nicholas Clyburn, Emaly Clyburn, A.J. Clyburn, Justin OKay, Danielle Aubuchon, Tristan Gillihan, Madelyn Gillihan,Isabella Gillihan, Lauren Bourd, Palyn Bourd, Rossi Hicks, Kember Hicks, Piper Hicks, Justice Hicks, Jersey Hicks, Hannah Huntsman, Emma Phillips; a nephew, John Kelley and a niece, Mary Bradley.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ella Hatridge Kelley and father Amon Kelley.
There will be a VFW Ladies Auxillary service at 10:30 AM Monday before the funeral service at 11:00AM
