Vergie Emmons

Vergie I Emmons, 92, of Poplar Bluff passed away on April 02, 2020 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Vergie was born on March 16, 1928 to the late Odis and Ethel (Herndon) Jarrett in Flatwoods, Missouri.  She married Jerald Emmons on July 20, 1946.

Vergie had been a convenience store Entrepreneur and attended Kerns Chapel Church in Stringtown, Mo.

Vergie is survived by children, Joyce Jeffries (Carroll French), Tom Emmons (Karen), Steve Emmons (Cathy) and Michael Emmons, 8 grandchildren, Rebecca Jeffries, Jayne Jeffries, Melissa Halcumb, Shane Emmons, Kevin Emmons, Lance Emmons, Brandon Emmons, and Kelli Garrison and 19 great grandchildren, brother, Jerry Jarrett and sister, Wanda Reeves.

Vergie was preceded in death by husband, Jerald Emmons, her parents and brother Lionel.

Due to the state regulations of COVID-19 a private viewing and service will be held with Willie Darnell officiating.

Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
